LostFound.ie is an online platform where users can:

- Search for items that may have been reported as found.
- Contact finders through a secure messaging system (available only to users with an active Membership Pass).
Important: LostFound.ie does not guarantee that you will recover your lost item, nor can we verify every listing posted by users.
3. User Responsibilities
When using LostFound.ie, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and honest information when posting or claiming an item.
- Do not provide personal or contact details when posting.
- Not post illegal, offensive, or misleading content.
- Not impersonate another person or organisation.
- Respect other users and communicate only for the purpose of returning items.
LostFound.ie reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
4. Claiming Items
- If you believe an item listed belongs to you, you may use the “Contact Finder” feature (requires an active Membership Pass).
- The finder may request verification details (e.g., colour, identifying marks, proof of ownership).
- LostFound.ie is not involved in ownership disputes and does not handle delivery or exchanges of items.
5. Organisational Accounts
Certain organisations (e.g., airports, schools, businesses) may be provided with accounts to manage lost property listings. These accounts must only be used for official purposes.
6. Membership Pass
Access: Certain features, including the ability to contact finders, require an active Membership Pass.
Payment & Refunds:
- Membership fees must be paid in full before accessing these features.
- Memberships are non-refundable, including if the user does not recover their lost item.
User Responsibility:
- Users must provide accurate information and use the communication system responsibly.
- Users are solely responsible for any information they share through the Platform, including personal, financial, or sensitive information (e.g., phone numbers, bank details, ID information).
Finder Response:
- Finders are under no obligation to respond to any messages or claims from searchers.
Disclaimer:
- LostFound.ie does not verify the identity, credibility, or intentions of finders or searchers.
- LostFound.ie is not responsible for any interactions, disputes, or outcomes from communications through the membership feature.
- Users acknowledge that all communications and exchanges of information through the membership feature take place entirely at their own risk.
- LostFound.ie reserves the right to deny or revoke membership for any reason.
7. Limitation of Liability
LostFound.ie acts only as a facilitator between finders and seekers. We do not hold or store lost property.
We are not responsible for:
- Items not returned, damaged, or misrepresented.
- Fraudulent claims made by users.
- Any agreements or arrangements made between users.
- Any outcomes, disputes, or consequences arising from the Membership Pass feature.
- Any loss, theft, misuse, or unauthorized access of sensitive information shared by users, including personal, financial, or identifying information.

- No Verification of Users: LostFound.ie does not verify the identity, credibility, or trustworthiness of any user (finders or claimants).
- No Responsibility for Items: We do not assume responsibility for:
- Loss, damage, theft, or value of any listed or claimed items.
- Accuracy or completeness of item descriptions.
- No Responsibility for User Actions: We do not assume responsibility for:
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or illegal activity by users.
- Sharing of personal, financial, or sensitive information by users.
- Technical Disclaimer: While we take measures to secure data, LostFound.ie cannot guarantee absolute security and is not liable for technical failures, hacks, or unauthorized access.
- General Limitation: To the fullest extent permitted by law, LostFound.ie, its affiliates, employees, and partners disclaim all liability for any damages, direct or indirect, arising from the use of the Platform.

- Restrict user access to features, listings, or communications at any time.
- Cancel or revoke Membership Passes without refund if a user violates these Terms.
- Take any other measures necessary to protect the Platform and other users.
Users acknowledge and agree that LostFound.ie has the full discretion to enforce these measures, and that any actions taken under this section are final.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes. The latest version will always be posted on the website. Users are responsible for reviewing updates.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Ireland.
